If you like Wakeman, check out the Strawbs. Everyone started somewhere... These guys rocked, and still do on occasion.

Little Feat
Axel said:This is true. While I do put Yes on top of my list and try to catch them whenever they hit the NYC area, there are others, too. I also like classic Genesis, Zeppelin, Skynyrd, Pink Floyd et. and I have a few favorite Norwegian bands as well.
Allthough in a different genre, another band that always puts on a good stageshow and give you your moneys worth for your ticket dollars, is Poison. They are doing a 20th anniversary tour this year.
kennith said:I didn't know you did the soundtracks. The only one I have is the moab one, on VHS. I have got to get some DVDs.

i was just getting into phish alot when they announced the bands end in 2004.
ptschram said:Dood, I saw the Dead (OK, The Grateful Dead, not the Dead) 69 times! Took me ten years and I saw them in 14 states and the District of Columbia. Got into taping a little late, but still can say I've lost more live tapes than most folks knew even existed. I have lost thousands of tapes during moves and found them months/years later-what a pleasant surprise.
As for Phish, I saw them 11 or 12 times and realized that they really were repetitive, simplistic and boring.
And, I'm about as old as Karen and Flyfish-feeling even older after reading some of these posts

Axel said:Yeah, that way we won't have to pay anybody royalties, and won't get into any copyright violation issues.
Another band I have listened to a lot and also seen "live" (if you can call it that) is Tangerine Dream
I'll have to check out Strawbs again. I heard some many years ago, but havent played any recently.
Speaking of Wakeman, did you know he did the keyboard tracks on Bowie's Space Oddity?
