Feels like a new truck

A couple of weeks ago I noticed a big oil leak from the transfer case input seal on my 03 Disco. While repairing I found a bad u joint in the front drive shaft cv joint. It looks like they forgot to grease it at the factory, dry as a bone.
So I rebuilt the frond drive shaft, replaced the transfer case input seal, transmission out put shaft and seal, the rear flex disk. A couple of weeks ago I replaced my worn BFG M/T's with BFG A/T's, and a few months ago installed some Bilstien shocks.
Took it for a test drive and it feels like a new truck. Back to the reason I bought it, a 4X4 truck that feels like my Mercedes sedan.
:)

im always reminded how nice these things must've been when they roll on a new set of tires properly balanced!
No shit, Elias. It is a wonderful feeling.

But if you air down off pavement, it won't last long...

not quite one pound, but IME going from usual 45 to 20 and driving the truck on a decent trail for 3-4 hours will all but guarantee the tires going out of balance.

Steve, post a picture so we can see how ugly you are. Just curious.

I just call my self that so my wife doesn't think I'm trying to pick up women online. I actually think I am perfect.

Agreed. Had a perfect balance on a new set of KM2s. Went out this weekend and dropped them to 20. Had a small vibration on the way home.

Such is life.

As much as I hate to admit it, my wife can tell when the tires on her DII are low on air. It doesn't take much either, five PSI is noticeable.

I check them three times a week and one tire is almost always low and I can't find the leak for the life of me.

I wish my wife were that astute!
When I drive her car it usually goes something like this:
Me: How long has it been making that noise?
Her: What noise?
Me: That loud screeching noise accompanied by the grinding.
Her: I have no idea what your talking about
OR
I thought that was normal
OR
Oh that, a few weeks now at least.

LOL-SWMBO hasn't said anything about the vibration from the bad left rear hub that I discovered leaking recently.

I'd rather not be told that I've known about and had the parts ready but still haven't done the work yet.

Thank you, it's not been a good day, doing my quarterly taxes and I think the raccoon that stowed away on the boat that was brought to me last week has died in the shop.

That's what you get for pretending to be a teenie bopper and saying shit like "LOL-SWMBO"

O MF-er
