And lets not forget all the Defender folks rolling around the mall with full on exo-cages. :ack:

They did come that way, at least on the 110s.

I'd like a NAS 110 style cage on my 90 some year. Mainly because I have no idea how to drive off road correctly.

The TR rear bumper has a separate large plate that attaches the wing to the floor of the body. I'd use it for a jack point any day.
Hmmm, ok. How about you jack it on that wing and toss the video of it on YouTube? I'd be curious to see how the floorpan and body mounts hold up being used as a lift point. ;)

I had a Bottorf rear bumper at one point. Stupid ass wanted me to bolt the wing to the quarter panel. I told him he was retarded and he sent me brackets to bolt into the wheel well or mud flap mount or whatever; similar to what you're describing. I still have those brackets in my scrap metal bin. When I had Brad build my RockStar rear bumper I had him make some proper wind supports so I wouldn't feel like a jackass selling a shitty design to a friend. He made supports from DOM that bolted to the bumper wing piece and then bolted to the frame. That's how shit should be, period.

My bumper mounts to the frame. But it also is an apocalyptic bumper that has held near all the weight of the truck. The wing or whatever mounted ones would fold. All .25" too.

And defenders are close enough to a jeep to use tube.

How is that any different than people using their sill mounted sliders as a lift point? You're still lifting the truck by the body mounts. Granted it's over a wider span of the body. I personally don't see anymore of an issue using that point to jack the back side of the truck than I do with using the sliders.

Is it a perfect mount? Of course not. Will it work for 99%+ of the people out there? I'm sure it will. I used that spot to re-enforce the sliders on my rear bumper. Difference is it's my truck and I know the limits and I'm willing to deal with it. If I take a hard enough hit on the back side of the truck will it give? Probably, but it will probably also crack my rear bumper.
