Ok, Howard will be on Sirius in 4 more days. I've been waiting for this for over a year. Since then I've been glued to the FOX News channel. I tune into 133 today and it's CNN. I browse through the news stations and it's gone. WTF! So I check on XM's website and notice that their newest station is FOX News. Does this piss anybody else off as much as it does me?

After today, that makes 30% Sirius' stock has dropped recently.

Some sites are reporting the "outage" was only for an hour. On the Fox News site on Tony Snow's page it says Fox will no longer be on Sirius after Jan 1. They give a number to call to voice your opinion that it should stay. I think the LH doesn't know what the RH is doing, and that is blackballing Sirius for taking Stern. Sirius' website still shows no Fox News for them as of 10:44 CST Wed.

If Sirius loses Fox for good, this will be very bad for Sirius - regardless of your opinion of Fox News.

Isn't the free market fun?

Fox News has been on XM for several years. 121 on my dial.

Sirius can have Stern. They deserve what they get for 110 million a year.

My faves on XM are 08, 07, 64, 83, 121, 166 and um...I can't remember any more. :)

I have Sirius, but I'm either on Octane, Raw Dog, or the Blue Grass channel. Only time I'm on the news channel is if something "big" is happening....

The people who glue themselves to a news wetwork are inevitably the same ones who moan about the excessive and insensitive coverage of human tragedy on the news. Listen to music.

Stern is a big ball of suck. Personally, his 15 minutes were up years ago. Potty humor and strippers on the radio isnt my idea of funny (O & A are not any better, but XM didnt lay out the kind of coin to get them that Sirrus did to get Stern). Stern can be lumped in with Paris, Lindsey and the rest of the entertainment group that should just go away. I have been a XM subscriber for years and cannot listen to FM anymore because of the commercials etc.

On the Fox News thing. I listen to/watch FOX more than any other news channel. The major networks lost it long ago and CNN just doesnt seem to know what is important when it comes to news. Plus, Cavuto (sp?) in the afternoon usually has a great wrap up on the business end of stuff.

I know that a lot of people like Stern, but that is one of the reasons I didn't get Sirius...just didn't want to support the hype. I don't hate him, but I would never listen to him if he was on. I don't really listen to Fox news either. Would rather choose CNN or the BBC. During our journey home, we listened to the Comedy channels on XM a lot, just to mix things up, and it was pretty fun. Even listened to the "E true hollywood story about Long Island Lolita"!! Hahahahaha

I listen to news in the morning....music the rest of the time....Top Tracks, Music Lab, HEAR, Fine tuning, Bluegrass, etc, etc. I'm even listening online at work....guess my sig line says it all.

When I finally succumb, it will be Sirius for me. As for the stock price, it's down about $1.50 lately, but it's been up and down ever since I bought it a few years back, and I've seen no big bounce or burst tied to Howard or Fox. Given I bought in at $2.00, I'm still "quids-in" as my Brit pals say. :)

Well, I'm not ashamed to say I bought Sirius because of Stern. (Also I can't stand FM commercials and I can't get any bluegrass stations in NorCal.) Sometimes he says stuff that makes me cringe in a good way, and sometimes in a bad way. When I cringe in a bad way, I can always switch it over to something else.

I also bought a Betamax video recorder back in the day, and Tivo. So maybe I'm not a good judge of longterm, viable technology.

James~

so essentially what your saying is that people who decide to inform themselves on domestic news and geo-political events are what?

James. Your "dumb" comment is only exceeded by your "dumb" comment.

BTW. I listen to (on Sirius) to CNN/Bloomberg/Fox News/Alternative Nation and Octane/and Raw Dog.

By your leave.

I jumped on Sirius not for Stern but for the Electronica stations. I usually am on Area 33, Boombox 34, The Beat 36, Raw Dog and Laugh. Octane is pretty sweet as well.

I just like the uninterupted music while on trails and such. My reg antenna is broken so it makes it nice not to listen to static. Plus that Sirius One unit is awesome. I can take it from vehicle to vehicle and it is the size of a radar detector.
