My buddy just bought a 4.0 in April, it's only got like 60k on it. Anyway the problem is that the range isn't leaving it's spot and the engine is fine. ****** fluid is somewhat bad, 'dark and clumpy,' but he just got it and really hasn't had time to check that. He ran a check engine light just prior. I'm guessing a bad ****** filter can cause this. If so what do you few range owners think went on this? Any help is cool, he's stuck in a parking lot in Manchester, NH. Lovin' my disco right now, ha...Thanks

Check to make sure that the t-case isn't in neutral.

Yeah, I know, duh! But my mom and I were once stranded in a '78 K10 because I had bumped the t-case shifter. Hey, I was only nine at the time!

Stuart:
On a P38A, in order to put the t-case in neutral, one must put a fuse into the upper, fore position in the fuse box under the passenger seat.

Ah, c'mon man!

Check the obvious stuff!!!! Is there enough fluid in the ******. autos don't work well with not enough fluid. Try putting it in R or low range, do the fuse thing.

Is the ****** engaging, is the tcase engaging? Look for obvious stuff. MAKE SURE IT IS IN GEAR BEFORE YOU WASTE $$$ AT DEALERSHIP!!!!!
