fuel pump reverse polarity?

Anyone ever hook your fuel pump up with reverse polarity? I did, Oooppps. It did run backwards and made some noise. Now when I hook it up-no go. It ohms out as an open circuit. So is it new fuel pump time? 90 RR classic with metal tank.

Ooopsie, I don't know about that. But if you end up getting a new one, you can use a Chevy AstroVan of about the same vintage. Pretty sure that is what I put in my '89.

yes lots have done it because the replacement pumps tend to have the terminals reversed from the factory rover one.

If its an open circuit, then there's your answer: Dead pump.

Dropped the tank and put in a new fuel pump. Now the truck starts and runs like it should. All is well.
