pump is the same, but the big breather hose coming out of the top is nonexistent on the D1. you can take the assembly apart and just swap the pumps though.
Don't bother trying to do the CB repair on a Defender. The way the pump is mounted, it collects a lo of crud up there and I have yet to see one that wasn't rusted so badly as to make it unusable.
Suck it up and buy a new one.
I can get you a new one at a better price than most. Coupla day delay though.
