Fuel Tank Replaced Today: Report

Got mine back last night. A good old tank replaced with a new tank, a cracked rubber hose from the filler to the tank put back in. In process, the fuel sender bumped off and reseated - which I noticed on my way back home (doesn't read where it used to), and then read about in the dealer paperwork. Great attention to detail....

New Tank, Free fuel pump

Mine was replaced this morning, and I got a new Fuel pump for free. Dealer reported that LR has been accepting the cost of the pump

Chris, more detail please if you can... I am about to have mine replaced and of course would love to get a new pump.

How did you talk them into the new pump? Or did they notice a problem and do it without asking? Which dealer?

Had mine done last month i asked about the fuel pump they just kinda laughed at me said it was not included....... better luck next time i Guess?

Ahead of time I indicated that I'd like to replace the pump while they are at it.
So I waited for the part and they simply told me today that since LR is paying for pumps, no charge.
Seems almost unfair given the 140k miles but thank you Land Rover

Finally got around to having my tank replaced yesterday. They made me remove my rear skid plate first. I had a hell of a time with it. SafariGard once on never off type. Wish I had known about LR paying for new pump. Ended up costing me $300. Free car wash, big deal. Adding insult to injury the tank was empty when I picked it up.

About that check engine light and mushy brake peddle. Yea right I'm going to let them diagnose it.

I have to take both my 95's in for the tanks and was told 9 out of 10 they replace the fule pump free of charge.They are back ordered on fuel pumps so I can't get an appointment for another 2 weeks
... I wonder if this is costing Ford a small fortune?
