Nevertheless, based on that photo, his rack is very light weight and has an aero leading edge. There is almost no weight on the front by using the light weight factory A- frame for the winch.
I probably have one of the heaviest lr3's around weighing in at 8000 lbs due to the heaviest sliders known to man (not necessarily a good thing), steel rear bumper with jerry can and tire plus bike hitch mount, 2nd on board air tank and compressor, biggest possible Odessey battery 2150, two heavy but sweet Hannibal awnings, sometimes the roof tent and pelican case full of the awning walls and tent annex and air jack, arb freezer always full of heavy liquid stuff on trips, and the same recovery stuff most of you carry off road including a 60" lift, chains, wheel chocks, fiberglass 48" waffle boards, bike tools and usually 2-3 bikes, photo gear.
I hope to add more weight soon by way of a long range fuel tank in the stock spare wheel location but maybe that's too much.
Anyway, all that and with the rack clear on top (no tent, pelican) I'm able to get 16-17 now and I'm so excited about that!
