I wonder if that is my problem...
When I first open the GEM app the first thing I do is select either 4.0 or 4.6 and than select either Auto or Manual. After that I click on the Connect button.

Are you saying I should only be clicking on the Connect button, and than the Adaptive Reset button?
having used handhelds by Blackberries / Palm / Apple / Window /Android etc I have the habit of moving from the top to bottom of the screen before proceeding.

Thanks

Hello Everyone,

Just a quick update on what I thought was my high idle issue. All this time I was looking at the tach gauge and it looked high, it also sounded high. So today I changed my UltraGauge to read RPMs and would you know it, it was NOT reading an idle at 900rpm at all!

From the image provided does this look like I am in the safe zone?
I cleaned my throttle body, and have a new IACV coming. When at idle the tach doesn't bounce all around it stays steady as in the picture. By the way according to the image what RPM is being displayed on my gauge? Is my Rover gauge off and I shouldn't trust it like I have learned not to entirely trust the temperature gauge?

Sending out another huge thanks to RobertF on his GEMS app, now I have the app working on another phone with an OBLink LX. I would be more than happy to contribute so this app can develop some other goodies for our trucks.

Thanks

Mine will run at 900 or so at startup when the battery needs a charge. It comes down after I drive off or when the proper volts are reached.

The GEMS app can reset the Adaptive Values. Adaptive Reset was something that only expensive scantools and the dealer could do.
Torque is a different beat all together that presents you will live realtime data via the OBD2 connection

Correct. Torque is great at what it does, no need for me to duplicate that.

I did do another update for the app. Probably transparent to the user, but the way I had it close actually caused a crash. Same desired result of the program terminating, but it generated lots of crash reports on my end and since I guess Ill try to stay on top of it now I need to pay attention to those

Does your 900RPM on your tach gauge look like what I thought was 900? All this time I thought I was reading 900 but the UltraGauge says it is much less
