Well, the " Old girl" just rolled past 100K miles this past weekend when I was comming back from the deer lease. '97 Discovery SE, looks and drives like a new car, I love it. She does have a few problems like the usual oil and power steering leaks but great vehicles. I bought it used about 4 years ago and do not regret it.

I should mention that I have been able to repair any prolems that come up in part to the knowledge and help of you folks on here. Thanks to all.:applause:

I couldn't agree with you more Scott. Great forum indeed.

My Rover certianly appreciates all the time I spend 'researching' repair issues here a lot more than my wife does.

the good news for you is 100k miles isnt old these days. odds are you'll be able to say your truck is fine at 230K miles

like anything on the interweb, most people are here looking for solutions to problems... so reading this board you see nothing but issues..

I admit I get spooked as well, and constantly think "what have I done.." There's a Toyota Land Cruiser for sale up the street, and everyday I pass it thinking.. "hmmm.."

But realistically, if well maintained my Disco is solid, and an excellent performer off road, and unique in appearance.. I can handle most of the nit pick issues with it..

X2 for me. I just turned 113K on my 97 D1. She is now officially a trailer queen and hunt-camp transportation. I bought her brand new and ever since, this board and others have supported my wrenching needs. So to all, I say thanks as well for the great advice. There has been so many tasks that I would have not attempted without the consult from this board.
A fantastic resource!!!!!

My Truck turned 100K last week and I expect another 100K as long as I stay on top of stuff. As I said in another thread when my DI dies meaning engine is gone I'm droping a 4.6 in the Bitch. Rovers never Die.

 100k!? hahaha... these things are barely even broke in at 100k! By the time you hit 150 you should have all the little quirks out of the system, then its smoooth sailing up to 300.

and ya, it is easy to get spooked at all the problems posted on here, but remember that people only post problems hoping to get solutions. if its not broke, then there is nothing to report. almost like watching the news, you only hear about the bad stuff, not the good.

haha that was great.

I am a new comer to the Land Rover. Ive had my 99 disco 1 for maybe 3 weeks now. Getting some things smoothed out like getting the dam cdl unstuck and soon to do a rotor and pad job make the truck my truck. Being able to fix the problems doesnt make them a problem but a project, and or course an oppertunity to upgrade. I have big plans for the disco as well, planning a overland from New York to Colorado this summer. The test is now to see if the 83k truck performs well enough this spring to make the trip. I have a feeling i will be more than pleased.
