What possible value could this board serve if people only ever said 'nice' things about each others projects? He put the crossovers on the doors because he thought they looked cool - he didn't notice that they look like my kid super glued Buzz Lightyear's back pack to an otherwise classy looking door. It's only fair to let him know that. The sub, if not bolted down, will sooner or later detach it's self from the rest of the system, maybe even kill somebody. Was that a flame? How about you be a 'Silent Z' and shut the fuck up if all you can offer is "I give your rig a 10".

Holly shit there are so many on this board! The box is going to be bolted down, I said that already... as to the "classy-looking door"... whoa... after seeing what most people do to their rigs around here, I'm surprised to see the word "class" mentioned - must've been a typo  ... not to mention the language that most of the haters use!!!

In any case, sorry to stirr up so much stink with this post, but DAMN! Don't get me wrong: I don't mind negative remarks - I wouldn't post the pics if I did, but again... DAMN!

Peace...

Move the crossovers, they look terrible there, not to mention, they will end up getting damaged or wet. Hide the fronts in the kick panels and the rears under the front seats or in the doors, I just go done putting speakers in my 110 doors, if I can fit crossovers in those thin as shit doors, that big old disco door will swallow them up. Other than that congrats for doing it yourself

I just bought the alpine 9820XM headunit, it is the new one with the xm controller and antennae built in. Check that out, it should also run the changer not sure on that though.

Oh one last thing, why can't we enlarge the picture of your girl. The one without you.

Have you been able to figure out how to wire the steering wheel volume controls to the new deck? I'm waiting for the new XM receiver that Alpine is about to release - how's the sound quality on the one you've got... is it any close to CD?

NorCalDisco.. I have pretty much the same setup in my truck (with the crossovers hidden), and love it, so don't let anyone bust your balls about it. The only way I have found to use the steering wheel buttons it to get an adaptor that converts your steering wheel buttons to an infrared signal that the Alpine can use. It cost too much for me to justify since I have a remote anyway, but I will see if I can remember where I found it in case you are interested.

I give you props on getting the stereo installed.

Personally i think you need to rethink the way you have mounted the amps and try to hide them better. Also the front door crossovers will go in the door. As far as the changer goes you will probably have to buy an adapter since your head unit is going to be ainet and the changer more than likely is not. Personally i would just buy the 6 disc mp3 changer and install it under the seat. I also think the crossovers need to be redone.

I fiberglassed the driver side bin and installed a single perfect 12 and a jl 500.5 in the other bin. It is completely stealth and allows me to load any gear i need as well. I will try to get pics up soon. I did do the steering wheel controls but would not do it again. You do not get good control due to the way it has to be programmed.

That is the new xm receiver from alpine. I love the thing it is great to be in the middle of nowhere and have the radio. I have a defender, no steering wheel controls.

long time no hear, John!

soon, the word "elegant" will become solidly associated with waxers. Time for Frankenstein style - like Chipotle Grill and Pompidou center.

It looks like a decent enough install aside from the crossovers just hangin out in the wind. I installed a custom radio with Rockford Fosgate RF Comp. Stuff because when I bought the RR it didnt have a radio. But as of a few days ago it dosent have a radio, speakers, half of the lower dash, and interior door panels (you know I figured since we were talking about things screaming steal me and smash and grab jobs) Thats right they took my door panels and smashed the shit out of my dash. Dirty bastards.

This Concludes my Current Statement
