All this talk of grills got me to pick up this one. It was just delivered to the house. It's a Weber EP-330 in Smoke Grey.

but for steaks, I'm a cast iron convert.
I'm with you on this. I was a complete convert as well a few years ago after the 1st competition event I ever participated in with Dan. He did the steak entry in cast iron and I never had a steak so good before. Apparently the judges did too from the scoring. I don't do mine inside though, I get a load of charcoal going and the cast iron goes over that since I generate a bit of smoke.

I went to Wegmans bought a NY strip, fresh garlic and thyme. Watched that video as I cooked it. Holy chick with a dick. That steak was fucking fantabulous. Gordan Ramsey may be a flaming asshole full of cancer but he does know how to cook a steak.

Get out more to your local chain restaurant? LOL. Ruth's Chris is mediocre.

Bonefish blows the doors off of that place for quite a bit less money. If you don't feel like cooking, it's hard to beat.

Surprised the hell out of me the first time I went.

Cheers,

Kennith

Why? So they can pay 30x as much at an over-rated generic steak chain vs learning how to make a killer steak at home? I bet you think Olive Garden is awesome Italian food as well.

Olive Garden is pre-made microwaved food in bags, no thanks. Ruth's Chris does vary by restaurant, not all are good. As far as overrated, not really, but everyone to their own. Was simply saying GR is not the be all end all.
