Yesterday i was in the in n out buger drive through and my harmonic balancer separated. I couldnt reconer all the pieces cause it flew all over the place. Any thing i should do while i replace it while i am in there? I am replacing it with a new balancer from rovers north, a new sepentine belt, and a new crank bolt and washer if i can find them. Any other suggestions?

A new harmonic balancer can't be cheap. Why are you going with a new one? I'd definitely go used on that part. The bolt should be fine. You should replace the front cover seal.

Thanks, i bought a used one this morning. The whole balancer is gone like the bolt came loose and flew away along with the balancer. Ive read a few people had similar issues since land rover has it threaded inreverse. Not sure if there is any truth in that.

Its right hand thread. I think the problem with yours was the last guy to have it off.

After tearing it down it turns out that the bolt and washer were still attached. The rubber and outter pulley separated from the inner metal piece that attaches to the crank. So my harmonic balancer separated.

Any way to just lift the radiator without diconnecting the hoses? I only need around 5" to get my impact gun in there.

You are going to have to remove those rad hoses, sorry. You also need to pull the oil cooler lines. Maybe your harmonic balancer is trying to tell you to stay away from the in n out burger.

If your old balancer is toast hold the crank with a pipe wrench and remove the bolt. Now, use your new balancer and make a version of the LR holding tool out of some flat bar. It's still a bit of work but taking out the rad and coolers is so messy.
