Me and my Sally (97 Disco 1) are stuck in the middle of the Texas Hill Country and she refuses to start..

Last week I go t up and drove my rover to the site where we are building a house.. got out.. shut the door. And went to work.. Thought I would go up to my camper and get a broom.. got in.. and it would not turn over.. NOTHING.. Checked the alarm.. That was not it.. there is power going to the ignition, .. there is power getting to the first relay, but that relay is not activating unless I ground it on the other side of the red and white wire.. thus making a full contact.. I looked at the wire diagram but I have not a clue where to do next.. The fuel pump comes on, I don’t know if I am getting spark, I will check that.. but regardless, I get in, turn the key and nothing. Yet I can jump the started solenoid, and it will turn over but will not start.. other strange things.. The driving lights, not the heads lights went out,, and the water temp gauge went out that night before.. what is happening to my Sally. Where do I start..

May sound rediculous, but my '95 all of a sudden wouldn't start one day. Must have had something to do with the central locking system, but from that day on, I had to make sure that EVERY door, even the hood was shut for it to start. With the new owner, he still has to do it.
Probably way off, but never hurts just to throw out an experience. Good luck. My 2 cents worth.

All fuses are good, there is power to the fuse that sends power to the starter RELAY, the relay clicks, the fuel pump is on and when you turn the key all the lights go dim.. as if it is trying to direct all the power to the starter, but there is nothing after that.. I put my battery on charger for 6 hours just to make sure that was not it. :banghead:

When i apply power to the starter solenoid it will turn over.. also
when i jump the starter relay to ground it will turn over when the key is turned.. RED WHITE wire comes from key switch, goes to fuse box, goes to starter relay to excite the starter relay, from there it goes to another point or relay or what ever that is supposed to complete the circuit, That circuit is not getting completed. If i artificially complete the circuit by grounding out the other side of the exciter wire, red/white, it will turn over.. but not start.. it is not the starter..

how do i test if it is the alarm. I have set it and reset it. I did not think the alarm cut the starter, only the ignition and fuel..
