How do I get the gas out?

I want to take my RTE CYA gas tank skid off my old truck and onto my new truck...

But, the old (totaled) truck had a full tank of gas when it was wrecked, and I'd like to get it out before dropping the tank skid.

Besides fishing a tube down the hole and siphoning it out, is there any other (less harmful to my health) way to empty the tank?

Is hot-wiring the fuel pump and offloading the tank that way feasible?

Buy one of those small DC fluid pumps or hand pumps to get the siphon started.

Use the fuel pump!

Jump the fuel pump relay and pump it out of the shrader valve, or syphon it out.

If your using heat or something that may spark to remove that skid plate, then a (non-leaking) full tank is MUCH safer than a empty one. It's the vapors that go BOOM!!

That was cool indeed - I just wouldn't want to turn as much gas into a fine spray. Gotta make myself a little venturi thing to make it neat!
