I tore apart the motor for a HG job. I'm looking at having the injectors reconditioned or upgraded. Does anyone know how many lbs/hr they inject? not sure if they're 14 or 19...does anyone recommend upgrading to 19 or 24lbs?

I did a search last night, reviewed a couple of postings. Nothing on the 4.6 bosch motor, 3.9 or 4.0 gems motors, ect...

So the stock injectors, which are not yellow also run 19lbs/hr?
I cannot find the thread I read it... but, yes they are 19 lbs. I was looking for the same thing a few days ago.

My mechanic is running a RRC with a 4.6L P38 engine with Chevrolet injetors out of a V6 (22lbs)

SEARCH there is a person on this board who has done quite a bit of research on the topic and posted his findings-more than you really want to know. :D

Don't try to run higher flow injectors as your ECU probably won't be able to compensate without more modifications to the fuel system. But, that was discussed in the thread I wrote several years ago.

unless youre doing cams or some race level/stroker mod, I really doubt going with a bigger injector is gonna do anything but make ya run rich, clog up your cats etc

want more power? I have my eyes on a sport supercharged for this reason

According to this site stock rover ones are rated 23.67 lbs/hr

I ran the ford pink tops (21 LBS) on my old LWB. These come from a 4.6 Mustang GT, or something like that.

But its acceptable to use the more commonly found 19 lbs ones. They work great.

If you look in some of the older Land Rover service manuals, they indicate 19#/hr.

When I tried 24#/hr injectors, I had horrible hard starts, horrible fuel economy and no power. When the ECU was queried, the pulse width was at its minimum, indicating that the 24#/hr injectors exceed the ECUs capability to control the stoichiometry.

keep in mind that not all manufacturers rate the injectors at the same pressure.

a ford 19# is not the same as a gm 19#

the fastest way for me to put back power
-regear
-is to loose the 80lbs each Toyo MT's
-mounted, to NATO steel wheels
-and the roof rack

fatter wires, bigger injectors and more octane are useless at propelling my 6100lbs beast any faster down the 1/4 mile
