03 with 93k miles. Valley pan at 75k and front cover/oil pump at 85k as preventive maintenance.

04 tcase, QT motor mounts and TW front ds are the best mods so far

I have a 2003 Discovery. At 69K miles (in 2008 my oil pressure light came on and I began researching. I found an internal memo where LR North America acknowledged the fault in the alignment of the dowel pins for the front engine cover causing the oil pump to wear away at the side wall and lose pressure. I filed a lawsuit against LR and used the proceeds to retrofit a 300tdi in my rover and now get close to 30mpg rather than 11-12 mpg.

how did you file a lawsuit when LR knew about it in 2003 and supplied engines to a certain VIN range if the dealers found it to be the problem? your story sounds fishy

2004 SE7 - I'm at 90k. Got a new engine at 60k. Now have 30k on replacement and so far, so good.

Seems like nearly everything has been replaced over the last 6 years... (radiator, abs ecu, front driveshaft twice, numerous engine/transfer case seals/gaskets, front diff, every window regulator, power steering pump, throttle body, and a bunch of other stuff I can't remember). I'm pretty sure their warranty department hates me.

Too bad the extended warranty expired 3 months ago...

Hello All,
Just wanted to celebrate my 100,000 mile mark today in Brown County IN, on a cool steel bridge in the woods. Checkout the new LR HID light install too. My rover has only been serviced by me since October 2007 and one and only trip to the dealer ever. All service is up to date and 60k service completed about 35k ago. Next mods are rear steel bumper, and installing my QT diff guards, and replace the coolant hoses.
I am on the original HG's and also in the "Death Vin Range" with strong oil pressure. I guess there are good 2003's out there and I got one. I bought it as the 2nd owner at 58,000 on it. I run Mobil 1 and Royal purple, in all diffs and TC case.

93k. stock head gaskets. no leaks up until a few weeks ago :(

edit: got around to looking at the leak this afternoon and it turned out to be a loose bolt on the front 3rd member that was causing it

03 SE 74K...original HG's (knock on wood). routine maintenance only so far other than coolant hose. Coolant hose did pop off but luckily I had just picked up coolant to do a coolant flush and had it with me in the truck for an easy fix in a quik trip parking lot. Engine ticked for a little bit but after changing to Royal Purple and later Rotella it went away (thinking the shell lube place that put the sticker on my window from before I bought it put in crappy oil). Changed tstat and the hoses two weeks after and had it checked out after that to be safe but there was no troubles. Driveshaft didn't break but switched to a TW to be safe. Also switched to 8mm wires. Been great so far. My G37 has more problems than the Disco. I've put about 30K on it since purchase. I bought the LR dealer's personal car and he had records with nothing done but routine.

Looked into it before and WOULD LOVE to switch to a LR diesel but it looks like more $ than it is worth. Thinking I could challenge Nomad for highest priced used DII (he is asking 44k lol) if I did make the switch though.

Put a lot of money into this truck but all in good stuff
