Got a 2008, 12k miles. These things plummet in value it was 10 grand less than new.

Those are nice, the layout of the center console are pretty neat. Way better than the Ford Focus and Mazda 3, which are on the same chassis.

Miata can be a gay car
So can my Saab 900
its all how you dress and how you dress your car.

Wearing a pink izod shirt in a miata is gay
wearing workboots with dirty jeans is not in a miata

dancing in the car seat to madonna may be fruity in my saab
listening to hendrix in it is not

that said, I like the miata as a fun sporty toy car, it does handly like a go cart I just wish it had real balls, its been endowed with a G spot instead

So here is a little update about a year later. I have inherited the Jetta TDI and the wife got an S40 this weekend. No Mini, No Civic. No Scion.

Gas has caught up to price of diesel so I will be saving some bread on my commute and I can properly care for the disco without worrying about getting to work.

For the first time in almost ten years to the day I am no longer using a Land Rover as a daily driver... I'm a fucking sellout.

Enjoy the TDI. What year? I know VW stopped selling them for a few years in the US because of carbon build-up. Now they are selling them again with a new design. If it was mne I would drive it hard(don't baby it).

I've never understood why the US car companies don't make small diesels for us to buy. Just big fricken trucks.

I agree, all this talk about fuel efficiency and everyone seems to beg for hybrid's and we hardly have an TDI's..... I think TDI's get beeter efficiency than Hybrid's, and I feel that as a man you can drive a TDI but definately not a Hybrid:D

Ford had plans for a small diesel in their f-150s, but the whole auto industry collapse took care of that. Probably would have been a 3 to 4l PSD. which would have fit nicely in a 109 Series...:banghead:

The car companies should have seen this coming 20 years ago. I almost wonder if just the way our US refineries are set up that they could not handle the diesel production that would be needed if we all drove diesels.

Now lets list the most gay cars ever made.
#1 VW Cabriolet(any year) all time gayest car.
#2 Porsche convertable(you may have money but your bald and gay).

I have a 2006 with 75k miles (bought it new) so the diesel has paid for itself already. I can tell you one reason why car companies are hesitant is it's still a bit of a pain to find filling station, and those that I do find there is fuel all over the pump handle and down the hose. I much prefer pumping gas.

Often, there is fuel all over the concrete, too.

Gasoline is more highly refined, thinner liquid that easily evaporates. The diesel fuel is more like oil and doesn't evaporate as easily and apparently when it does it leaves behind that disgusting residue. Also an observation I've made is that it seems like the diesel fuel is harder on the seals because the joint where the hose meets the handle tends to ooze like the rear main seal on rover.

I want the automakers to make a big F&*king hybrid, like maybe the Ford Excursion, then I'll get one. makes sense, doesn't it? Big enough to carry stuff and economical. Plus, just think how that'll piss off the greenies......:bigok:

no let's get the Big three to make something even bigger, just for the shock effect. An Excursion would be perfect, plus, just think of the batteries you wuld be able to put on that thing.....:D

No, they?re just real men and shake the drips all over the place

Diesel foams a lot when filling and can foam back up the throat faster than the cut-off can respond?half a panel and boots covered with thin patina of diesel is not unknown

A trouble with the TD5?s tank is that the foaming causes the nozzle to cut off 10 litres before totally full and you have to dribble the rest in. Usually I don?t bother, but when there is up to 15%- 20% price difference between city and country you want to get as much mileage as possible (10 litres is 2.5 US gallons or 65 miles)

My local servo has disposable gloves beside the diesel pumps and a warning that the concrete is slippery after rain
