I know the subject of O2 sensors has been covered quite a bit but here is some information that will save you money. Disco I models from VIN # VA350102 With AEL System (mid '97-'99) use four AMR6244 sensors. These are manufactured by NGK and are labeled with their brand NTK with p/n 25044. You can buy this plug 'n play item from http://www.clubplug.net/retail_sensors_ngk.html for $68.85. I just bought four new ones and got free shipping. For what it's worth, their cross-reference is incorrect and calls for a 25017 (non AEL with different plug). I called NGK Tech Support and they confirmed that 25044 was the right one. I've heard various stories about whether or not off-brand "will fits" work but this is the same item that Land Rover installed. I also learned from the NGK Tech that the sensors and wire lengths are the same between the AEL and non AEL versions with the only difference being the plug. So if you found a non AEL version cheaper somewhere else, know that you could cut and re-splice with the old plug.

Merry Christmas all....

Very awsome! I have 225k on mine, been thinking it's time to replace all 4 even though I don't have the CEL on, I know they degrade.:thanks:

Great info.......

Does this mean this sensor would work on a 1996 just by re-wiring the plug?

Thanks and Merry Christmas.........

I found a link to a pdf file that gives a Land Rover OEM part number/NGK O2 sensor equivalent part number. It lists a number of Land Rover part numbers cross references. You have to click on the link titled "Link to OEM to NTK cross reference" at the bottom of the page. That will start an auto download for a cross reference PDF file. By the way you can buy the NGK25044 on Amazon.com for the same price as on the clubplug.net site

Hope this info is useful
