Anybody on here live in Kansas City? We'll be in town for a day and a half on July 1 & 2. We're picking up a dog from a breeder in the area on the 2nd. Just wonder what we should do while in town.

Thanks!!!

Boulevard Brewery has some things of interest. I guess everyone will tell you to go down to the Plaza.

Most fun I ever had while in KC was to make the little road trip over to Abilene (I-70W?) and visit the Eisenhower Library.

Actually, one of the other fun things we used to do when in KC was make the road trip over to St. Louis. Man, we always had a blast in that town! You always get the obligatory stop about half-way in Columbia. Always a good beer or twenty to be had there. ;)

Kansas City blows....so glad to finally be out of that hole! St. Louis has way more to do. The brewery is ok, the salvage boat is fun. People usually do the obligatory plaza trip, and then of course there is the boats.

You gotta come through St. Louis. Schlafly Brewery has some awesome beer and fantastic grub made from local suppliers fresh goods. Plus I'm here, seriously what more could one want?

But cereally, I really dig all the damn fountains in KC. Just something really pretty about all the flowing water all over the place. Shit, now I have to pee...

The fountains are nice, when they are running them!

The Peanut ? 50th and Main

No trip to KC is complete without a visit to The Peanut. If you?re going to the Plaza it?s in the same neighborhood. This hole-in-the-wall bar is an absolute dive. When you drive up you will be thinking ?what the hell? ? ?I?m not going in there.? Park around back, put on your big girl panties and head on inside. Order the large BLT sandwich with fries and an order of hot wings. I guarantee YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED. With a full belly and a few cold beers, shopping down on the Plaza is much more bearable.

Thanks to everybody for your input. Unfortunately, our time in KC got cut short due to a detour to MO wine country. We rolled into KC at about 7:30pm on Wednesday. The valet at our hotel recommended a short walk to the Power and Light District. It turned out they have live bands on Wednesday and Thursday nights. We had a nice dinner (with 1/2 priced bottles of wine:applause: ) and saw the band Lit (My Own Worst Enemy).

I'm still pissed that I didn't get any KC barbeque:banghead:

On the up side....I did get to eat at Pappy's in The Lou. Awesome food and even better hospitality!!! Two thumbs up. Also had dinner at the Broadway Oyster Bar. The best cajun food I'd had since NO.

Oh yeah...the puppy is super cool also!!!
