Nice report

Unhappy with the side effects or looking for larger lift?

Keep in mind, true 33" tires fit without any modifications whatsoever.
Apparently someone needs to.Tires: factory suspension allows 34" tires without rubbing.
okay, let me elaborate.Apparently someone needs to.
Man you don't know me at all. First, it's your truck, not mine, you do you, I'm just commenting.okay, let me elaborate.
33" fit without any caveats.
34" may wipe out oil cooler or an additional radiator under lock and stuff.
I know 34 is a deal-breaker for you.
Well you're the witty one aren't you. It's not off-roading if it's not a mud puddle the wife's Highlander can't drive through. We established this several pages ago.
Okay, now we're coming clean with priorities. The 34's are more a street tread and give the truck a really good look
instead of stirring the pot you may be better off smoking it .Well you're the witty one aren't you.
Have you had two selectable lockers in any of your vehicles? Then I read the "4wd mode" procedure. Seems that alone is pretty much a deal breaker for me.
Exactly."My diff-lockers take 10 seconds to engage" is a first world problem. Change my mind.
I had OX lockers in my second XJ those were baller. Pull cable, locked. But you had to route a steel cable into the cabin."My diff-lockers take 10 seconds to engage" is a first world problem. Change my mind.
Yes, a ‘93 LWB. They were ARBs and worked without any issues. Like many mods done on a vehicle the quality of the install greatly effects how well it performs. Mine were installed by ECR in Maine and never had an issue with them.Have you had two selectable lockers in any of your vehicles?
How long did it take from you wanting to lock both diffs and them actually being locked?Yes, a ‘93 LWB. They were ARBs and worked without any issues.
Actually very quickly. How long did it take from you wanting to lock both diffs and them actually being locked?
That's not an idle question. With an ARB, or OX, or any other, you don't know if the diff is locked - until you or someone else confirms that both wheels turn at the same rate. There's no magic to it - all of them use spline collars of sorts, and until splines mesh, they aren't locked. It may happen that the splines mesh perfectly and they lock at once, but if it isn't the case, you may be driving for a mile in a straight line and they won't lock.
At least, Grenadier's lockers tell you when they are engaged - or in process of engaging.
Why yes I have, 2 and wheeled them quite a lot. None of that crap is inherant in the system, that is all install and maintenance I have heard that crap so many times, yet in all the years I wheeled with ARB the only problem I had were where you push the airline into the compressor and I never had that problem on the trail. I seriously doubt that it was just luck.Have you had two selectable lockers in any of your vehicles?
Every single person I knew with dual ARBs took like five minutes to get this shit going. And that's assuming it worked - because of shitty wiring to the pump, chaffed through air lines, leaky O-rings, burned pump - you name it.
From a couple I have known for decades, and who went through a few Land Rovers before punting and getting a Rubicon, the jeep's locking process is a little faster. But you have to realize that, whatever I wrote, I've done it for the first time ever.
And, doubtless, when the collective experience grows, people will learn all the tricks and bypasses.
Yes, my thoughts as well on the CDL in my Disco. Much more vague for engagement than engaging my ARBs at the time in the Rangie.CDL is way tougher to engage than an ARB. All that hoopty junk you have to do on a brand new vehicle is more work than on my old 30 year old disco for sure. Not that I am some huge fan of ARB, they were just the only readily available option for selectable locker in D1.
