iPod interface by GROM doesn't work

For any DII owners that are interested in installing an iPod and have read this be warned that I took this interface to a reputable shop and they couldn't get it to work. The connections fit perfectly, but nothing would turn on or control the iPod. Also, Grom has no phone number and they do not reply to emails. So, go figure.

If anyone has more info hit me up on PM.

I just put one in last week. The hardest thing was pulling the radio out. It works with my steering controls and haven't had any issues except that the radio lcd display light doesn't come on. I can live without it.

I've had a GROM in my '01 for almost a year (actually exactly 1 year to the day!) now without any issues. Usually there's the 80GB iPod playing tunes, but I've also had my iPhone plugged in too. It works great as well, it just doesn't charge the iPhone which is ok because I have a separate charger if needed.

What head unit are you using? I was actually just about to order one for the Becker TP in my '03.

I VERY much doubt it will work with the TP nav unit as there is a LOT of wiring differences between that and the R990 Alpine unit, although the Becker unit will take an AUX input OR CD changer

I don't have the NAV unit just the regular sound system with the tape cassette and the CD changer under the seat. Just want to know if the GROM unit will work with this. Most of the posts I see everyone has the Harmon Kardon units -

It should. Send GROM a pic of your head unit before purchasing and they will verify. I do not have the upgraded HK sound system and it's worked flawlessly.
