Is the RAVE Manual correct????

I'm in the process of replacing my head gaskets on my 01 DII and have made it to reinstalling the Inlet Manifold. According the RAVE manual I have it says to tighten bolts initially to 7lbs ft. then to 38lbs ft. Is that correct? Seems awful high to me plus the two bolts that hold the gasket clamp bolts are only to 13lbs ft. PLEASE set me straight.

(Sorry I'm getting my information from page REPAIRS 30-2-15, Step 7.)

Thanks
Steve

Ok thanks. Just seemed high to me going into the aluminum heads. I will torque to what the book calls for.

Thanks again.

Dude! The head bolts are torqued so tightly, you'll think body parts are gonna fall out of you while trying to remove them! Main bearing caps are torqued to more than 60 ft-lbs! The only threads I've pulled from Rover engines are exhaust manifold threads and there's a lot going on there.
