This tire is a CLASSIC for Range Rovers from what I hear, but I can find NO source for it, Is it discontinued, and if so, is anyone running a comparable-looking tire?

yes, I'm in the same boat here.

first the BFG Trak-Edge (which is what I currently have) got discontinued and now the Dunlops are gone.

Blueboy needs new shoes and I'm not sure which way to go.

I thought the Michelin XPC was the classic RR tire.

You may be thinking of the XMS. That's what the stock spare was on my Rangie (205/85/16, I believe). The stock tire on the Disco for a long time was the XPC (still have one on my spare).

I wish Michelin still made the XPC. The stupid part of my brain wants to buy four spares off other Discos so I have a full set, but the slightly less stupid part of my brain tells me that riding around on 12-year old tires is a bad idea.

Keep saving the pennies for some BFG A/Ts...

Probably not a good idea, the XPC that are used as spares are probably all dry rotted by now.

Thanks Brider you just ruined my day. !#$%$

Well I may have 2 fairly new 2 year old ones with less than 15k on them. Depends on where I go with tires. i bent my tierod, and when i put it back it apparently i didn't get the alignment close enough. the ones on the rear are in great shape, but the 2 up front are worn on the outside edges. If I go the route of getting rid of them I will post up, but I am notoriously slow at making up my mind. :)

Mike and Myles.

ps if you find a source let us know!!!

FYI, OEM tires for NAS Range Rover Classics were, as follows:

1987-88 Michelin XM+S 200 205/R16

1989-95 Michelin XMS+244 205/R16

To my knowledge, no NAS Range Rover Classic came from the factory with Michelin XPC's. Typically, when you do see them on Classics in the correct size (205/R16) it means that a previous owner had replaced the original XM+S's at the dealership. Also, from what I can recall having test driven a couple of '94 Discos at the dealership when then were first introduced, they came standard with the XPC. The same is true of all the P38a's I saw during that time ('95-'98).

Hmm. I thought the XM+S/XMS were factory issued for spares only. And XPC were on the ground. On the West Coast, the XPC were typically replaced with the Synchrones in stock size.

Ever buy a brand new Range Rover Classic? I have and they came with five XM-S 205/r16's. I know of no Range Rover Classic that came straight from the factory with XPC's and I spent a fair amount of time at the dealership back in the '90's having my Rovers serviced.
