Just a little rod knock.

(and by just a little I mean it sounded like a rod was about to make a window in the block). (just to clarify, PT)

I have a 4.6 rover engine in the pile that looks about like that. Surprisingly, it did not knock.

What happened? Obviously, no oil pressure, but why?

I believe the oil passages in the crank for a couple of the rod bearings were clogged by some plastic that broke off of the secondary chain tensioners. One other rod looked bad but not as bad as that one and the others were down to the copper base. To my surprise, the crank bearings looked fine.
