I needed tires this week. No way around it. I've waited. Nothing I want will be in stock anywhere I want to shop any time soon.

I've already had to limit the DII to 1,000 miles and 45mph, so I just fucking bought some. As long as I was buying something that wasn't ideal, I figured I may as well buy something fun and interesting.

I think I'm about to get stuck in mud. A lot.

I'll be unstoppable on dry tarmac, gravel, and sand, though.:D

It would seem like a stupid purchase, but Sears had them for $169 a piece for some idiot reason, and somehow I ended up in their damnable club a while back. That left me with a bunch of points after buying all those cabinets, plus some "surprise points" (whatever those are) which gave me a nice discount.

So, I won't be so hot in the mud for a while. That's obvious. I should also stay away from ice, and slow a bit more in rainy conditions.

I will have tires tomorrow, though, and that's what matters.

At the very least, they should be wonderful on the road around here during these summer and fall months. They were also cheap, which means later on I can pick up another set that's more suitable for all-terrain and occasional mud use.

I'm certain I'll be able to flip these fancy looking tires to a college kid with a Toyota at a profit when I need to move to something more appropriate.

Cheers,

Certainly a good looking tire, looks like they'll be awful in mud, but they'll look sweet on mall curbs.

Dan will love them.

I'm not sure these will have the extra logos. Sears may have used the wrong image, as all the other shots I've seen only include the lettering in red.

Pretty sure I bought these exact tires right before I sold my bronco. Discount Tire had them cheap as shit and it made the old truck look aggressive in the parking lot :lolol:

i've been considering those tires also. reviews seem fair and the price is hard to pass up. plus i only wheel my rig like twice a year anymore and usually in the summer when i could run most stuff in radials anyways.

They suck out here in the rocks. These tires are on every ford ranger pre-runner bro truck out here in Las Vegas. My Michelin's LTX A/T 2's out perform them for the most part, but it could be the trucks I'm out with, also. From what I've seen they preform extremely well in sand and have exceptional traction in high speed situations. They seem to be an open desert high speed tire and that's about it. You wont hate them, they do have good road manners.

I can think of a lot of times when they would have been great to have in the past, and quite a few more in the future. Unfortunately, it's not all dirt and gravel out there. I've had to use less purpose-built tires.

On top of that, living in Eastern NC presents some seriously annoying mud in daily life if you find yourself in so much as a mowed field regularly.

If they just can't hack it at all, I can always sell them. As I've noted, I'm sure I can make that happen fairly quickly. I haven't seen a set around here yet. There are good reasons for that, but none that most of these college idiots will know.

Looks alone will move them if it comes to that.

For now, I just need to roll on something I don't feel is likely to fall apart. Make no mistake, I'm fully aware of the drawbacks of these tires, and that they are a very poor choice in this area. They were designed for the purposes you mentioned.

I needed tires, however, and these were available.

Those red walls would look sweet on the A-Team van.

Want to know something fucked up?

The tires I actually wanted just came back in stock at Tire Rack this evening after all those months of absence.

I should have known. Murphy is forever nipping at my heels.

Maybe I'll get lucky, and Sears won't hold me to it.

Send them back to sears.

Those are crap tires and you'll hate them.

Cheers
Doug

They are good for their intended purpose; fast runs on dirt and gravel. Sometimes that's important to me, but I still hit varied terrain. I'd not have used them on an outing.

I didn't think what I originally wanted would come back in stock the next fucking day.

If Sears will take them back, I'll do it. If not, I knew what I was getting into. It's not the end of the world. I can sell them if required.

Cheers,
