Here's an example of a sucky BFG. These never balanced properly, and began to show the traditional cracking very early on.
A few buildings down, a bunch of cheap Chinese shit tires are still looking great after years and years of sitting and abuse, and a number of off-brand junk tires purchased from junkyards are run all over this area and still balance well and look great.
I see no reason why this sort of nonsense should be endured. This is supposed to be a top-tier and well respected manufacturer.
Fuck BFG, and fuck Michelin too.
Now, that one spent a few rotations as a spare, so the lugs are still sharp. One might argue that the non-spare tires would be better because they've been flexed more often, but they are not. They are simply more fucked up from off pavement use, and display similar cracks between all the fucking blocks.
This is not the first time this has happened with BFG tires. I've owned several BFG sets, and they all pulled this shit. I've got well over a pound of weight on one of them now, and that's happened before.
Meanwhile, all the big trucks around here are happily running around with other brands enjoying tiny weights and solid sidewalls for tens of thousands of miles. To be fair, most of them don't spend any time off pavement, but that's not the point.
As I've said, this is 2014. We should expect more.
Cheers,
Kennith
