knock when accelerating

Looking at a DII when you accelerate from stop, it has a light knock, two or three times then stops. Any suggestions where to start looking?

I have the same sound on my 99DII. Not sure what it is...

I had a knock/rattle---it wound up being the cat-----I took it by meinike they checked it and assured it was----land rover replaced it for free bc it was under warranty till 80k

That's what I originally suspected, ie. play in the shaft... Mine's never been rebuilt so that could be it.... I'm at 69,000 miles so it's probably time huh?
