no, those on the shock ones will bust off your shock towers as well as break the dist wiper caps on the shocks. I wouldnt run them.

I just extended mine with 1x3 steel from the local Metal Supermarket.

I think I will go this route as well just drill it out to bolt to stock mounting location and then use the stops Kyle posted. And I will eventually weld them down as long as they are in the right location with my axle being moved back an inch and a half or so.

I would pull the springs and do a "dry fit" of the bumps under compression. The ones Kyle linked are the same ones I have and since they're not solid they will compress more. Maybe use some blocks of wood and shims to get the height dialed in. Then get 1x 3, 2x3, etc for steel.

I thought about the D2 flares as well but not sure they will open them up quite enough.. If anybody has pics of a d1 with 35's and +/- 3" with d2 flares I'd like to see it. I'm mostly worried about the fronts - in situations when I am turning while wheel is stuffed. The rears arent as bad cause I have the RTE arms spaced out and it's pretty much dead on in the center. When I cut I may add a 1" spacer or wedge and shim the trailing arm a bit more so I dont have to cut a shit ton off the door..

I want to open them up as much as possible so I can skip on a ton of lift and keep the COG down

If you want pics try SactoDisco(Jason Fuller) on LRR. He runs 35's on his D1. It's even white, and he's a good guy.

I don't have a laptop to load pics right now. If you PM me your email or number I can text or email them to you. I cut several inches off. I'm way in the door and way into my SG rear bumper. The tires are 37x12.5 on 17in Marsh Racing rims. I think I'm running 4.5 BS. I'd have to double check that later. I'm running bumps on my Fox shocks....

They are ballin. I have SG mounts all around. I would not use these with stock mounts.

Got my flares, did some more cutting and test fitting. Didnt have a chance to get them mounted up but did have a chance to cut my bumper and sliders so I can go play in the rocks tomorrow.. Here's a test fit pic, I have so much room now it's stupid - not totally straight need to chop some more..

I am thinking about using some rivets with washers to attach them on the truck instead of the screws they send. Read all of Mikes suggestions anybody else use rivets? Which size did you use and how did it turn out? Hopefully going to be able to finish this up tomorrow after I take it out and make sure nothing rubs.

I used allen head screws which worked alot better than the screws that were supplied with the flares I have. The only down fall to rivets i can see is having to re-rivet them when you rip the flares off, and it will happen eventually.

In that regard flares kinda suck but I still put them back on after i ripped them off on a large rock. I had to use a washer behind the screw afterwards to put them back on, but I'm fairly certain it would rip off again if I was in the same situation.

over there
jake,
use BMW fan shroud rivets, BMW p/n 17 11 1 712 963, then use #10 stainless pan head screws from mcmaster.
that way the flares will pop off the truck instead of tearing sheet metal.

ecstuning.com has those rivets for like $.20 each.

the final product - sits a little higher in the front because of where it was rubbing, can always move the rears up later - I just noticed the stupid small shit. I am happy with them though.
