Anyone ever have a problem with leakage from the rear diff on a 2000 DII? Looked all over for the leak but couldn't find it. Any problematic areas that usually come up?

the flange seal. almost the only place that can leak except the plugs themselves. it also could be where the diff meets the housing but the seal is often the culprit

I have replaced countless pinion seals and resealed the diff to housing surface as well.
For some reason, DIIs and late P38s suffer this badly.

I've never heard of doing that before (pinion seals or resealed the diff to housing surface.) Is it difficult? any online instructions?

thats what I like to hear! Is it as easy as taking off the old gasket (whatever material it may be), cleaning the surface and putting on new ones?

The material between the mating surfaces of the diff and housing is only Right-Stuff. The pinion is a little more involved as you need to pull the centering peg and that seems to challenge some folks

IF it's the diff to housing, you'll need to pull the hubs and they are sometimes frozen in place.
