man, forget the bic lighter thing, just look at this. from focused narrow beam, down to middle, then to "wide"...

i doubt the aperture and shuttle speed are identical for the 3 pics, but you get the idea.

Kyle, your truck is aluminum. Bics and aluminum don't mix either, so if you're trashing plastic, well so maybe ABS has a slightly lower melting point, but alum doesn't do so well under a sledge attack either.

I'll keep my LFs. They throw magnificent light. I've also used 'em dialed out to the halo pattern and after the first 5 minutes you don't even notice it. Want HUGE light -- go with the 240s. Want infinite pencil? 240s. And remember I get a commission on every one you guys buy.

Ho, thats what different pattern lenses are for on LF, actually. If you like beam stuff - you just getting clear ones and focus to your liking. If you need wider patterns - you go combo or wide angle, and adjust focus thingy accordingly. In general idea is to build up brighter spots where you like them, not where some generic dude thought it will be nice to have them.

I am not advocating LFs, i am just saying that for each its own.
