The dogs, myself and my girl are moving to New Hampshire in the coming weeks. Even though we haven't picked a place yet we are pretty stoked (and anxious). All those native or otherwise I would love to hear from you, specifically where to get a good beer and look at in Southern New Hampshire as far as towns are concerned.

Signing: Guy who is leaving San Diego.....

Wow I didn't think anybody ever moved out of SD. The 364 days of sun every year have a certain hold on people. Good luck with the move!

It must really suck to be a prisoner in NH, making those license plates...

Buy a snowblower or find out who plows snow locally.

You probably don't have any winter gear do you.

First winter is going to hurt

Where in NH?

NH is nice, I really like the mtns, southern NH doesnt have to much "character" but is still a great place to live, Nashua has been voted maybe the 3rd best city to live in. I you have any questions about the area or adventures, let me know. Good luck

San Diego to NH! wow! That'll be a difference. I moved to upstate NY in 2001 from Virginia Beach. I like iti here, but the winters are cold and long. Get some snow tires for the Rover! NH is nice, you'll be close to Boston and Maine. Plenty to do and see. I'm looking forward to skiing with my boys this winter. But speaking of winter, it really sucks during the dead of winter it gets dark at 3:30 and the high is only 0! Fun fun! Time to buy a snow blower!

NH rocks - but not as many places to go wheeling as CA. I've lived here for nearly 12 years now. As for watering holes ... my favorite is probably the "Coat of Arms" in Portsmouth. British pub of course - great food, great people and of course real beer :D

There's one local LR club - New England Land Rover Union - isn't particularly active. If you're into skiing and snowmobiling there is plenty of that.

The trails and class 6 roads up this way are great in the winter time.

Oh and of course if you're into Hardley Ablesons there is bike week every year. And there is a pretty big community of off-road, trail riders and adventure riders in NH.

My friends Plow guy was showing up to Plow to often while my buddie was at work.

turned out he was plowing his wife .

so if its a snow blower get a female one for sure.

It should be interesting, especially the first winter back there. Seeing that we will driving from Oregon to New Hampshire in late December should make for an interesting adventure as well. I am looking forward to the seasons, the outdoors and hitting the slopes again. I grew up in Oregon so it shouldn't be too big of a shock (I hope)..

I moved from San Diego in 1998, and I'm just getting around to not regretting it. Whenever I go back to visit family & friends, I'm reminded of the beauty & weather that I left, but also of the totally ridiculous political & social scenery that I don't miss. It's a hard move to make, so I wish you luck. And I'm definitely jealous of the beautiful landscape and extreme seasons that you're headed to. Good luck!

Ski Tuckerman's this winter!

Not that I ski - but if you do Tuckerman's - you can also stay at Hermit Lake camp for the night. Either that or go a bit further North and camp where I do on Thunderstorm Junction :D
