Looking for advice on Springs

So, I have a broken shock. I will be replacing all 4 shocks (likely Pro Comp ES9000's). I am also buying a TJM winch bumper. It does not currently have a winch, but I hope it will in the not too distant future.
I understand that I will need new springs and it seems like it makes sense to do that while I am replacing the shocks.
So here is what I am looking for:
1) CHEAP. I am sure I am spending more than the value of the truck here.
2) Not trying to add any considerable lift over stock height. Up to an inch would be ok. This is a family car more than an off-roader. Sad but true.
EDIT: Well... maybe 2 inches :D

Also, can I just change the fronts for this or are all four wheels a must at this mileage?
Thanks for any help.

If it's a family car (aka station wagon), why not just put some Bilsteins on it. I believe they would be more suited to the pavement.
Where are you getting the TJM from? I read somewhere that they withdrew from the US market. Shame too because I always thought it was better looking than the ARB.

ya TJM is gone from the USA. only old stock.

you could also try old man emu shocks.

also you can get OEM rover HD springs, made for the winch kit. htey sit about 1" taller than stock. i dont know the p/ns though.

Luis,
It is in reality a station wagon, but I will wheel this bitch when I get the chance. The reason I was looking at the Pro Comps I believe is the same reason that anyone has ever bought Pro Comps, they are $150 for a set of four and most of the reviews were positive.
The bumper was being sold here used in the Classifieds. Guy didn't want to ship, luckily I am 15 minutes away from him.

Definitely buy the bumper. I have run Pro Comps on my truck for years and I love em. The accountant in me loves the price too. I have yet to have one fail and they ride better than my wifes Chevy Trailblazer. I have OME HD springs too.

Definitely snatch the bumper. I regret not putting a TJM on. But fortunately the market is flooded with some decent options.
The one I am eyeing right now as my replacement it from Trek Outfitters.
Also a very good looking front end.

you know that bumper wouldnt be that bad if the hoop wasn't so tall.

I know. That is the one thing that keeps me looking. If they could cut it to my specs which I'm sure they would. I would also like to see a larger diameter tubing on there similar to that of the TJM. Maybe that's why I like the TJM so much.

I put genuine LR heavy duty springs on my Range Rover, paired up with Pro Comp shocks. The result was a very stiff ride. Be prepared to get bounced around a lot, but you will see handling benefits. The genuine springs were about $40 each, definitely a good deal. They also lifted my truck about one inch. I tried to mitigate the harsher ride by also installing blue polyurethane "comfort" bushings on all my suspension components. Didn't quite have the desired effect, but it was a good experience to inform my next upgrade.

ProComps are cheap - and you get what you pay for. They provide a not-very-comfortable ride and will not last as long as a more comfortable and durable shock like Old Man Emu's. I bought them and wheeled them and had all 4 - yes all 4 - explode, filling the dust boots with oil. Switched to OME's and man what a difference. BUT, if you aren't going to lift it, just stay around stock height, just buy Monroe's or the Armstrongs or something, with stock height springs, you don't need extended shocks. Atlantic British has a sale on Gaz shocks/springs right now, try them...might find something that fits you.

Thanks guys.

RRCNicky,Were those the ES9000's that exploded? Good tip.

d1driver, Do you find them stiff like Tugela and RRCNicky?

Where is a good balance for the extra weight without too much stiffness?

I have read some not nice things about the Gaz stuff. Any opinions on those?

Thanks again,

I've had my OME on for about 10 years and about 100K without any issues. Now granted that is little farther than I expected out of them and I am planning on replacing them this year regardless as well as the springs because of the many add ons since I put them on.
