That would be great to install the zf24, has anyone done this successfully. My worst fear is that I swap out zf22 trannys and the same thing happpens down the road. I'm able to use the truck now thanks to the advice from Ian and Will so the pressure is off. If anyone has done this let me know I'd love to give that run. Thanks!
you will need all the spacers/plates off the donor... back of motor.
may have issues with the shifting.. different ecu for the 24...different shift points.

Guys, I found this link from Discoart who swapped out a ZF22 with a ZF24 trans in an 02 D2
"Just to update everybody, I did install the 4HP24 in my 02 Disco. Everything was plug and play and it is shifting great. I am using my original transmission ECU."
Alright boys here we go, the ZF24's are the same price and handle 100 more Nm of torque. I'm loving this Idea, I'll let you all know how it goes but Discoart just convinced me. Thanks for all your help!
