96 5 spd D1 has had some extensive 4wheel use and wore out the front cv's, It makes a loud CACHUNK metal on metal something slip-banging? while turning(usually harder turns) not to mention the gut wrenching jerk it produces simotaneously
. . so I bought another D1 totally stock never abused and swapped out the front axles and cv's that were in great shape, but still makes the noise? Its hard to locate where its coming from exactly bc I am always driving or going around a turn or circle when the noise happens. .

what are all the possible problems/locations of the damage or noise?
transfer case?
tie rods?
bushings? :banghead:

It also started making a rattling ticking noise when I first start it up randomly, which increases w the rpms but then soon fades away after a minute or so of driving. . more bad news?

SKARAMUNGA- youre right on w the low speeds and in parking lots, so you replaced the tie rod and got a steering stabilizer and that fixed it??
ill check those bolts as well

Check your radius arm bolts and bushings too.

+1 Mine did exactly what you are describing and it was the Radius arms. You really have to check it close those things are hard as hell to tighten and with the load of the truck they might seem tight but they are not. Look for gaps and signs of play or put it on jacks and it will probably be easier to find.
