There are two sets of sliders being developed. One from Dave at Slickrock Fabrications, the other from Scott at Rover Specialties.

Not sure where Dave is at with fabrication. COMMERCIAL PLUG: The Rover Specialites sliders are just starting limited production later this month. Shoot me an email. I am putting together orders for the RS sliders. "nathan" at "woodsfamily.cc"

Lots of tire options, but it depends if you are on 17" (rare), 18" or 19" rims. For the road, most people are using the Michelin Synchrones with success. For mixed street & off road, the Nitto Terra Grappler A/T's, BFG A/T's, Cooper ST's or STT's are popular.

I am getting my LR3 back from the shop this Friday and it will have new BFG 285/65/18s!!

We test fit one the other day vs the Toyo Open Country 285/60/18 and it seemed to fit ok. I'm sure it will rub some offroad while they are still brand new but I just have to try it....

I will repost again once I get the truck back. And take pics too

I thought the same thing but I have always run BFGs on all of my trucks so I just couldn't switch! BFG has never let me down offroad (knock on wood) Plus I think the BFG is a much better looking tire.

I can't wait to get my truck back! I'm also having the wheels powder coated black....

I had the cooper STT's 275/65/r18's and they rubbed some but that was easily fixed, But if you have the HD package those MT's can take you lots of places

Thanks Gil!! I love it! Already have many people approaching me a the gas stations asking if I really take my LR3 offroad...... haha

So it is rubbing in the forward part of the rear wells when its in ride height mode and I make hard turns or hit big bumps. started the trimming etc... yesterday and it looks like it's going to take some work.

Not too much work really, there is a little fin of body sheet metal at the forward part of the wheel well (9:00 or 3:00, depending on which side), that will stick through the plastic shroud. Just pound that fin down flat and you should be fine.

There are 2 quarter inch aluminum lines that run right next to the fins you are talking about that the tire rubs too. I noticed that where these lines run under the doors (passenger side) there is a section that is rubber. When I pull the rubber section loose it appeared that coolant came out? It was a red liquid that wasn't an oil and I closed the line real quick.

What should I do with these to relocate? Can I convert the whole line that runs through the wheel well to rubber and reroute it?

Thanks,
G

Here are a few pics from this AM up in Gorman, CA!! The 285/65s rub a decent amount at full flex but had no issues. HUGE improvement over stock!!

These are my Mickey Thompson 265/70/17 MTZ's. They're a fraction smaller than Gride7's at 32.2", so didn't need any "panelwork"

Cheers,

Gordon

This is the sizing I find when I compare the tires:

265/70/17 = 31.60 overall diameter
285/65/18 = 32.58 overall diameter

Explains why i'm shreading plastic wheelwells!! hahaha
