I have the Euro Beam and love them, but it really depends on what you are going for. I liked the Euros because they cast light out much farther and wider than the normal high beams.

I really want to replace them but rewiring the front could be expensive. I know where all of the hook-ups are in the grill and the light mounts are. but if i do install the 4000's will the lamp burn out if the stock set-up can't handle the 4k's, And which beam pattern is better, the euro beam or fog pattern.
are these lights going to be used for offroading only? if so id look into the cornering beams. on the east coast offroad driving is slow and stead, these lights have a very wide but short beam, and are perfect for lighting up the whole trail.

I just measured my factory lamps and their about 8x8 inches and a standard 4000 is too big for my A-bar. But i did find light brackets for warn lights that look like they can be bolted up with my winch mount. Hopefully with these I can mount the 4000's. But would it be a good idea to have the sticking out in front of the A-bar over the winch. I also found a lighbar the went a little over the top of the discovery genuine winch mount. But not sure if that would work.

The only thing about the 4k's are i either get the rallye 4000 compact or o get ountf for them on my winch mount. I could go with the 1000's

It's not hard to find good deals on 4K's on eBay. I picked up a set last month from a guy in Georgia. 2 Eurobeams, Hella wiring harness and shipping for $230 total. If anyone is interested I can give you his eBay identity.....I won't simply post it as he's not a sponsor / contributor here.

You saw an LR3-G4 edition? Got any pics? Was it a one-off done by that dealership?

I know that in Europe, the 2003 G4 editions (04 model year) were avaiable in Silver. However, here in the states all they sold were the Tangiers Ornage DII and Freelander.

If you have any pics and/or info, please post.

It was at this dealer: www.howardorloff.com
I do not think it was dealer install, since it had a snorkel. (on the passenger side)
Maybe contact them and see if they will send picks. Maybe a person in Chicago can get some picks.
I do not like this dealers parts departmant so I will not be going back.

The silver one you saw is basically a G4 but without orange paint but it could be diff. The ones i have seen on the web have everything that a G4 has just without the color. The snorkel should be a dealer added acc. but i have read that the genuine snorkels are more for dust not water. If that is true I'll wait for safari snorkel to come out with one.
