it's also quite possible the bmw wheel is not built as strong seeing as it was made for a much lighter vehicle more concerned with quick performance than strength.dmarchand said:Ordered a used 18" BMW rim to test fit. Their 18" is far cheaper used/refinished than the LR version.
It's pretty easy to find a set of used 18" LR3 rims online. I've bought quite a few sets.dmarchand said:Ordered a used 18" BMW rim to test fit. Their 18" is far cheaper used/refinished than the LR version.
So - which wheels fit? D2/P38 18"?
I disagree emphatically.I'm not sure about more aggressive tires, but the Continental is the best tire they came with IMO.
Chris -
FWIW -
after I had a puncture at the very edge of the sidewall in one of the factory Contis (and what a POS that tire is!), I replaced them with 255/60R19 Goodyear Wrangler AT2s. The tires are awesome - round, quiet, with excellent grip on dirt and snow, taller slightly than stock (just enough that you no longer freak over creaming a rim at a pothole or rough curb), and they don't rub anywhere.
I could not be happier with that tire.
