I don't think it would help. The truck is too modern for steel wheels. Steel wheels are the elephant in the room on an LR3/4. It's like trying to sneak a Lazy Boy into a Franklin Loyd Wright house. You can justify the Lazy Boy as being more comfortable than a Herman Miller Lounge or a Lafer chair, but it still looks like shit.

I'm not sure I 100% agree in the case of steel wheels on an LR3, but this is a great visual.

I'll make you proud Dan it is going to look like shit and offer land rover community an economical choice for rims with an offset to compensate being lifted.

But I am agreeing with you on the color. The rim is going to have to be black can't think of any other way for it to look right on the green truck

Jay Mo,

You have to have a better angle for this forum....if we wanted economical we would just get marsh racing wheels that come black.

Fuck economical, that's already been done. Steel wheels isn't pushing the envelope.

Annnnnndddddddd, there is the problem with Land Rover owners today. Everyone is a cheapfuck.

Be better than that. Preserve the brand. Offer tasteful mods, not cheapfuck mods.

A lot of the US lr3's came with 19 in rims. So what is your suggestion? Spend $2500 on the Compmotos to get a 18in rim? Hunt for some used 18s? If so the offset is not enough then you need a set of spacers. And at the end of the day you still have an 18.

You're trying to make the truck what its not. Accept it and work with it. The LR3 can do many things well. You start fucking with one element of the truck to make it do one task better and you fuck up another. Be innovative. Don't just stuff the biggest tires you can under it and wrap it in armor.

....and take wheel spacers out of your vocabulary.

Sooooo.... looking at my nanocom and the CCF editing abilities, it looks like you can set info for tire size. I don't know if it actually affects anything, but it would be cool if it adjusts the speedo, and maybe transmission shifting for the new size tires.

My suggestion is to go back to the drawing board. Rethink things and don't be afraid to think outside the box.

Take a look at Ho's old D2. Look at the wheels. Look at the tires. Do you notice anything? Does something look different? Can you put your finger on it? If you spend more than a minute looking at this photo and can't figure it out then that is a cool mod.

Do that to the LR3. Simple, effective mods that make people say WTF.

They are D2 wheels. Check micro cat.

Yeah duh. Who needs to check cat scat to see that those are D2 wheels? Putting D2 wheels on a D2 isn't a mod. I'm just waiting for the "gets it" comments with more cryptic narratives with pictures. All I want to know is what the special mod is that I can't see because it's so good.
