Thanks, I think that when the Tires were installed they used the wrong size. It seems to have worked well to "pound" the 27mm socket on as the tool kit wrench will fit then. And I am not by the side of the road wearing wingtips, late picking up my girlfriend from yoga!!!

I NEVER use an impact wrench to remove/install the covered lug nuts. Do it by hand and they will last forever. I change over to off-road tires about 10-12 times per year (Yes, I know it's crazy, but my 2004 Disco is also my daily driver).

BTW, thanks for clarifying that they are 27mm. I have both sockets, but was never sure which was correct. Nice to know that those 2 sizes are sooooooo close, though.

I had the same issue with mine, where a shop messed up my lug nuts using the worng socket.
I bought some new/used ones, through a contact here and now carry the correct socket in my truck and will give it to the shop next time I have them balance and align the tires.

At your mom's
I'll break the bond on all the nuts with the breaker bar and a 1-1/16" 6 pt then switch over to the gun to spin them off as I sit in in the comfy chair - If the air is on for brakes or bearings or a rotation or such.
