My '03 Disco II just hit 60K miles.
What are all the maintenance items that I need to do at 60K miles?
I do not have a manual. I was going to take it to a local shop and preformt the necessairy preventitive maintenece items.

Thanks in advance for your help!

60,000 miles
  1. Change engine oil & filter. We recommend Mobil 1 Extended Performance.
  2. Change transmission fluid
  3. Change front and rear axle oils * Land Rover recommends this service at 90,000 miles in the US. We suggest 60,000 miles if you use your vehicle to two or go off-roading.
  4. Change Dex-cool coolant
  5. Replace plastic fill plug on radiator if fitted
  6. Change transfer case oil
  7. Change brake fluid by pumping fresh fluid through the system. You will need the Autologic or similar Land Rover test system to operate the ABS pump to do this properly.
  8. Check and top all other fluids
  9. Test battery and replace if faulty
  1. <LI value=10>Oil all door and body hinges
  2. Grease drive shaft joints
  3. Replace platinum spark plugs
  4. Replace air filter
  5. Clean throttle body
  6. Clean differential vent pipes
  7. Check steering linkage joints
  8. Check brakes
  9. Adjust parking brake
  10. Check exhaust and under car components for damage
  11. Replace wipers if bad
  12. Check lights
  13. Check a/c and heat
  14. Check all accessories
  15. Check washer jets, clean and adjust if needed
  16. Rotate tires
  17. Check for stored fault conditions with Autologic or Testbook
  18. Check operation of O2 sensors and emission system if not done at 52,500
  19. Road test and note other problems

this is basically the same service I did at 30k, except I changed the Trans filter out too... this vehicle is made for field service, and draining and refilling all that fluid is fairly straight forward...

some garages charge 2k or more for this service..

I did mine for maybe $200 in lubes and filters.

Did plugs and wires today.

I didn't pull the plenum so it looks like I've been castrating cats, but it's done.

Glad I did it, #4 wire must have been hanging by a thread, when I got the boot off the coil, all the goodies stayed stuck inside the coil. The wire pulled out, but the hardware had to be removed with curved needle nose pliers.

Has anyone found an aftermarket supplier of extra long plug wires and relocated the coil packs. I'd like to buy another wiring harness, relocate the coil packs to a more accessible location and run longer heavier wires.

If anyone has done this please pm me instructions. I'll be out of town the next 4 days but will respond when I get back.

Personally i have the 8mm Magnecor wires and i am very pleased with them. Im sure you could probably get one of the company to make you a custom set, and i know they make sets that are cut to length. Check out a parts store. I had the same problem with a few of my wires too, but it was at the spark plug and all of the guts came out of the wire and stuck to the spark plug.
