1/2 a step closer to making the MRR. I just fired up the Buggy for the first time in maybe 6 months to check a few changes as well as see if she still purrs like she did prior. Rest assured the FP still screams. I hate to disappoint.

Because I'm too lazy to search, anyone have a normal operating temp for the '97 4.0? My temp gauge is operational and I'm no longer short circuiting the coolant system. I get a reading of less than 190* after idling for a bit then a steady race of the motor for ~ 2 minutes.

I'll get her back down off the jack stands then get back to the Ford's transmission problem as soon as my new to tap arrives. Yes that's right, I've got to drill, tap, insert a Keensert(sp?) - basically a heli-coil into two bolt holes of the trans.

^^ Awesome. Good to Know. ^^ I still want to replace the gauge that I installed because I needed one, to a better quality lower range gauge. Currently running a 130 - 280* gauge.
Last year I had no idea what temp I was running when the motor shifted to high idle because, I'm guessing it was getting hot. Hopefully my coolant routing changes have solved this issue.

I may be in now... I followed Beagle through the rock gardens etc with no prob. I'm happy to do stupid stuff, but do we know if the REALLY bad stuff in MI has a "plan b" option? Hard to tell from the YouTube videos.

I'll try anything twice, three times if it tastes good, but I'd like to stick with just one caved-in door....

Anyone know???

Looks good, Chad! I've got an on board air setup I want to get done as well as a Saginaw pump upgrade. 11 days in OBX isn't going to help me get that done, LOL.

MISSION IMPOSSIBLE update: MI is about 300 acres, the same size as Cliffs for anybody familiar with that place. I just spoke with them about the difficulty. Most obstacles are optional or have bypasses. He recommended we not do the toughest trail in there because it's guaranteed body/window damage on a Disco. He said there are still plenty of challenging trails to have fun on in MI and the guide can pick/choose what trails to go on based upon the vehicles in the group.
Tick tock, so far it's just me signed up. :D

Brett, thanks for the info bossman! Sounds like a game time decision.

Your mom is going to hold it out the window for me.

Very childish and disrespectful! (Pretty funny though!)

No Paypals came in for Mission Impossible other than mine, so we'll just have to try to break stuff in the regular park. :D
