This will probably piss Kennith off, and he'll probably say something about how the Boss's original was so much better. :p

Found this band on the Ryan Bingham channel on Pandora and I dig them.

Chris, I have mixed emotions on that cover. The music is good; I really like it. But it fails to have the music match the tone of the lyrics. The guy in the song is lusting after a woman that he knows he can't have. It's killing him. These lyrics are awesome:

"Sometimes it's like someone took a knife baby
Edgy and dull and cut a six-inch valley
Through the middle of my soul"

The original song has a much more melancholic tone to it:

I remember hearing it for the first time. I really disliked Springsteen. I couldn't believe that he actually made a song that was so different than than his standard, rock it out, music.

Another Pandora find. These guys are really damned good. Can't believe these guys are as undiscovered as they are. If you like bluegrass, folk, or country, check this out.

Found Billy D. about a week ago and been jamming to his 2009 album ever since. Some good tunes on there.

I like Eddie Money. I first saw him live when I was 13; my cousin's band was opening for him in L.A., back when he could draw the big crowds. I was looking through the YouTube videos of his recent live shows and they are pretty sad venues, places like Waco, TX and small Indian casinos in Florida. They all sounded like shit. His voice just isn't big enough to fill those places anymore and the weak crowds make it even worse.

I found this video today; it's a house concert-style venue in Dallas and he's doing an acoustic set. It's great. I wish more aging rockers would do these types of shows.

Ok, it wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. The emotion isn't there. He sings it, but you can't feel it.

I found this version and can't believe I never heard it before:

<iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/kHLQPgrSfWY" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Even when the guy was on death's door, he still could deliver emotion:

The album that started this thread, some 600 posts ago.

I really like this version. Looks like it first hit Youtube about a month ago.

Both are great songs, and versions of them . This is Trent Reznor's take, on Johnny's version of his song.

Social Distortion, doing Cash's version of Ring of Fire. I've always been a fan of SD, and this song is on their self titled album. which I find to the best one.
