Some of you (IE Blueboy) are some of the biggest forum bitches I'v seen. Seriously... you said your peace. You think I fucked up a shitty $3K truck aand you think its ugly. I get it. Move the fuck on. Im not building this truck for anyone but myself. Is it cool when someone complements what I'm doing? Hell yeah. Are there going to be people long the way who's not what I'm into? Sure. I can take constructive criticism all day and the occasional fuck you I hate what your doing. If you don't like it, state it as you did and move the fuck on. Some of you think I posted a "build" page to show off my finished rig. If you read or follow any of the build pages you would see I'm far from being finished. It probably never will until I get board of it, sell it, and move onto something else. Shit maybe Ill buy and old restored series and fuck it up too... Just to clarify. I never stated "Check out my build." The thread is " My not so average RRC build." Your reaching buddy. If you have noting better to do I get it. Ill play along if thats the case.

I'll get you a line on a super original Series I or NAS 110 and you can build a truggy out of it or something.

I still don't understand why people are so upset... look at the photos of the thing, it wasn't mint, original, perfect, unmolested when he got it, who cares what he does with it. Look at Frank's D2? I understand a D2 isn't on 95 classic level, but damn. Keep it up Shawn, looking forward to you gutting the interior and caging it haha.

What a bunch of pussies. That's is one of the best looking RRC I've seen. Follow the build on pirate. He is Doing some solid work on the truck. Sean...take it as a compliment that the lame ass bitches on here don't like it.

:D

x2! Lot of opinions here that think fab work is adding stickers. Well done Shawn.

I like it...makes my D2 look like the beat up truck it really is. I could careless what people think of my truck, and I like your attitude Shawn...

How do you like those tires? the only think is if they aren't double beadlocked you can blow the inner bead.

Quite possibly the best RRC I have ever seen. I have not clicked over to Pirate to check out your full build so I am guessing you ditched the stock Rover axles a long time ago?

Thanks man. Tires are good on the road. I have all of $200 in all the tires. They are just for getting me around. Once I build some axels Ill be buying something else or grooving up some MT's.

Thanks man. I have stock (at least I think they are stock innards) axels under the truck. Ill have not wheeled this rig nor do I plan on wheeling it on a mild level until the axles are built. Thats the next big project I have lined up.

UPDATE:

Well I'v been putting around town in the Range. She drove nice up to about 40mph (death wobbles). So I figured I'd give the Air Soft BB's a go. I ended up adding 16oz per tire. So I'm up to 50mph now till death wobbles. When I'm going super slow and turing I hear a clunk in my steering/suspension. I have a feeling the bigger culprit is alignment or a worn out part(s). So next is getting it on a rack and checking everything and alignment.

Most of my weekend has consisted of fixing wiring and cleaning up some electrical. That stuff drives me crazy.

I also got around to finishing up my assisted hood. I picked up 2 60lb shocks and brackets. It was a pretty easy job. I feel like I'v been under the hood quite a bit. Its been pretty nice. I did both sides.

My last little update. I bought a single button key fob from CupGT. Like most of them the loop on the back was broken. So I did my thing with it and make it in Carbon. I painted the button ORANGE specifically for the haters. :flipoff4:

I have a lead on some axels locally. Hopefully I can make some time in the near future and go get them. More soon...

Remote is sweet!

Thanks man. Thanks for the great deal too.

I for one like your build
Would like to see you produce and sell gauge pods and key fobs
I need both i need a gauge pod for 5 gauges
Good Job

Thanks. I want to respect the forum vender rules as I own a business that specializes in Carbon Fiber. Unless they give me the green like to talk about it im going to have to not say much about it.

UPDATE:

So I went over to my local independent rover shop. He has given me a few pointers over that last year. Sense I'm having some death wobble issues I figured I drive over to him and have him take a look at it on a rack.... and I feel like a dumb ass.... Although I feel like I have put a wrench on every nut and bolt I never touched the steering. Almost every bolt that touched a steering component was hand tight or loose :banghead:. Its kinda crazy though. The steering never felt very sloppy. (Keep in mind I bought the truck with all the steering upgrades). He also pointed out my rear drive shaft was built upside down. So I'll need to press the uni-joins out and filp it around. All of the bolts to each drive shaft were loose as well. :banghead: The previous owner did quite a shit job on everything he touched. So I tightened and loc tight everything. I went from only being about to drive up to about 35mph to 55mph. Well thats as fast as I could go just around where I live. Needless to say I put a wrench on everything under the truck. I also took a grease gun to anything with a fitting. Feeling somewhat relived.

When replaced my front D/S and rebuilt my rear I was expecting fight with the nuts. They were barely tight. I did not loctite them but replaced them all with new grade 8 nylock nuts.

Nice work. I'm liking it more and more. :)

Cheers

Thanks man.

Ill have to take a look on the shock for part numbers. I bought the shocks at "Sky Craft". It's a mom and pop place that specializes in weird ass surplus. Ill get some measurements on the shock for ya. Really you can make just about any shock work as long as you set the angle right and the shock has enough pressure.

You know, this is one mod I've wanted to do for years. Gonna have to do it now that I've seen one done.

I read/followed your build on Pirate today - an amazing lot of work and very nicely done. I get why some like to keep the original but anyone who puts a lot of time and detail like this into anything deserves a round of applause in my book. Pretty cool, how is it now?
