This is a boring warranty issue but id appreciate your thoughts.

My wifes 03 Disco. is currently at the shop getting some warr. work done. When we bought it at this dealership we paid the extra $1,800 for the 100k warr. The disco was used with 40k miles. I was told it was a bumper to bumper warr.

Here is the list of problems and what they are telling me.

Rear wiper comes on whenever it wants to when the front wipers are on.
They said it has not come on with them so they cant fix anything.

Pass. seat switch will not raise the seat. They said this is not covered by the warr.

Mode/shift lights sometimes flash and the trans. will not shift until you turn it off and start it up again. They said the batt. is dead and want to charge me almost 300 bucks to install a new batt and reset the computer. I can install a new batt. for much less but does the computer really need to be reset??????

Exhaust leak. This thing sounds like a red neck mud whoopin truck and they are saying that they hope the warr will cover this.

What do you think?? Sounds to me like the dealership is trying to find any excuse poss. to not cover anything. Why do they care as long as they get paid?

Any advise?

Sounds like you need to go to another dealer. I had an 86k extended warranty on mine and they never refused to fix anything. I was told it covers everything other than paint, exterior trim, brakes, and normal maintance items.

Yeah, mine has the same switch as driver's, with the up/down motion... but does nothing... seems to me it's normal... also check the arrows on the switch.. and, check what your manual says...

For the seat problem check the seat fuses. They are under the seat I think there is two. Every now and then my lumbar won't inflate and it's allways the fuse.

battery is a no brainer to swap, and any Advance Auto can clear the codes/computer for free.

Check for loose bolts in the exhaust, 3 min. with a wrench usually cures it.

The other stuff should be covered.
