Before you go into all those schematics I would ask a simple question.... When you turn the key what happens??? Nothing??? Does it at least turn over just doesnt fire up??? Turn the key and hear only one "clunk" what happens in the begining??

cranks but doesnt turn over. as for the pressure i just check the valve on the engine and alot gas squirt out. I check the spark at the coil..

you need to see if your injectors are firing. Sounds like they might not be.

Since the fuel pump is pressurising the line the ECM is receiving power. Spark is present, I would suspect an open circuit between the coil and the ECM.

You sure cause I believe he just said he has spark at the coil??? Check to make sure all the injectors are pulsing..... And also check camshaft position sensor..... With nissans which is what I really know the CSPS is a very common problem.... did it have a long extended crank issue before it stopped running??

OK, first off, do you mean that it cranks, but does not fire?

You may have plenty of pressure at the rail, but you also may not. It doesn't take much pressure to spray it out the valve, but it does require quite a bit of pressure to make it run.

Checking at the coil gives us proof of a good ignition amplifier and coil, but tells us nothing about the cap and rotor.

Jumping to the end, I think a new rotor might just solve this issue.

For the love of God boys, this is a '95, IT DOES NOT HAVE A CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR, IT HAS A DISTRIBUTOR!

Now you've gone and made Paul mad!

No, I'm not mad! I find it hilarious that quite often, it seems as though I'm the only one around who not only understands the older trucks, but REALLY, REALLY enjoys working on them!

I have a shop full of Classics and couldn't be happier-even if one does need a blower motor!

x2, distributor trucks are a breeze to work on, and even easier to understand whats wrong and ignore fixing it. obd2 is voodoo

If you find out what it is let me know. It just might work on the mother-in-law.:D

If you change the rotor do a search first. I did not and ended up pulling the insides of my distributor apart. I then had to take it apart to put all of the insides back where they went. I believe a chisel was the best option for rotor removal.
