Yeah, doublecheck that inertia switch. Do you know where it's located? Are the hazards blinking at all? You can also verify fuel pressure at the rail if you have a gauge. I'm not sure about the relationship between the CkPS and spark, but that sounds plausible.
Shot in the dark: Crank position sensor. According to Stew, the pump doesn't run until it receives a signal from the rotating flywheel.
