New HG needed, what else should be replaced?

I replaced the cap and the coolant is no longer being released via the cap. But coolant is leaking from the rear of the head on the passenger side of the truck. So I'm looking at replacing the head gasket, front cover gasket, and oil pan gasket. I want to rebuild an engine to replace my high mileage lump at a later date so I'm not interested in replacing the cam, lifters, or bearings. Thoughts?

Are you sure its the head and not the valley gasket leaking? Mine was leaking behind the pass head and running down along the bell housing. When I pulled off the valley gasket the head had white deposits from the water jacket to the rear of the head.

I got the heads back from the machine shop and ready to reinstall everything. Any suggestions on gaskets/sealant for the front cover and oil pan? I have gaskets for both but not sure what is preferred, gaskets, sealant, or a combo of the two. It appears that my front gasket was installed and then back rtv was added around the cover to stop leaks. Thanks again for the help...

I ordered the head gasket kit with the cap before receiving any advice from the board. I figured I would need the kit now or later with my rebuild. Any advice on the sealant on the front engine cover? The Rave suggests Hylosil jointing compound. Thanks for the help...
