Our 16-year old niece has a 4-door Jeep Wrangler. Because she wanted a new Range Rover and that wasn't going to happen!

Of course, once upon a time, I wanted a Jeep Wrangler too. The first vehicle I ever drove was our '81 Jeep Scrambler. It looked like this.

It was pretty tough and very handy when we had a farm. After we moved, my sister drove it for a few years in high school and we used it in the winter. Once it started rusting out my dad finally sold it. It was a pretty good little truck, in concept.

That new "thing" looks hideous.

(why is a .jpg an "invalid file" now?)

For those who don't know, The 07-11 jeeps had the same motor that mopar but in their mini vans, and they were junk, not meant to pull bigger gears or tires ect, the new ones starting in 2012 are much different with no problems as of yet. Why they ever stopped using the bullet proof 4.0 engine is beyond me, most of those motors will see upwards in the 250K range, and you are a fool if you think that any rover motor would make that without a few head gaskets or total rebuilds. I love my 110, but I also love All my TJ's (97-06)

Yeah, that 3.8 was giant piles of crap. Pissed me off they ditched the I-6 engine. That thing would go forever and it only took 7 hours to do a head gasket in the field (some snow was involved). But alas, they had to drop the hood for some reason.

The transmissions aren't all that hot either. The auto's catch fire and the manuals last just a while longer than the engines. Already hearing about those getting swapped.

On the flipside, for once, stock jeeps have good suspensions and axles straight out of the box. The old D35 rear axles and suspension on the TJs were crap. The D30...meh. Not the best but it lasted ok.

Still would take a TJ with a I-6, NV3550, 8.8 rear, SYE kit, and aftermarket suspension over a JK. Those just work. Same with a YJ with Classic Bronco axles and spring over suspension. Just work.

Yeah.. that fc thing looks cool. although the original post, that I posted, has to be a Brute. because I cannot get a straight answer out of the dealership to see if it's the real thing or not. The Gladiator was/is supposed to come out this year, after being pushed back again from last year. I guess we'll see.
